Imagination as a Catalyst for Change: Launching Our New Impact Report

We’re proud to launch our latest Impact Report, celebrating a year of powerful work with children and educators across the UK. In 2024, we reached 17,620 children and supported 1,071 educators in nearly 100 schools. But this report is about more than numbers — it’s about opportunity, collaboration, and the transformative power of imagination.

Imagination isn’t always easy to measure, but its impact is self-evident. This year, we continued pioneering ways to demonstrate real change, with a focus on creative thinking, a core skill for the future. In collaboration with Harvard University and Melbourne University, we used the Divergent Association Task to assess creative thinking before and after our programmes. The results speak for themselves: a 100% increase in children's creative thinking, and a 92% increase for teachers.

We also asked children to imagine their futures. Using the Millennium Cohort Study, we explored how imagination can influence career aspirations. After participating in our programmes, children named new ambitions like inventor, astronaut, games designer, and robotics engineer, all STEAM-related roles that reflect exposure to new creative tools, technologies, and ideas.

One student put it perfectly:
“The world needs innovation and, more importantly, innovative people. Imagination and creativity are exactly what’s needed to succeed.”

In 2024, we launched The Power of Play, in partnership with The LEGO Group and The LEGO Foundation. Working in Tower Hamlets, where 44% of households live in income poverty, we helped schools integrate Learning Through Play into the classroom. In 2025 this work will grow, expanding across Tower Hamlets and beyond.

Looking ahead, we’re thinking big. As we approach our 20th anniversary in 2026, we’re laying the foundations for a Festival of Creativity, and exploring the vision for a permanent Imagination Venue, a space where children, educators, and innovators can come together to imagine, make, and create.

But we can’t do this alone. We’re inviting partners, supporters, and changemakers to be part of this journey.

Here’s how you can get involved:

·      Donate to our programmes or core costs

·      Volunteer your time or expertise
