Last year, we reached 17,620 children, boosting creativity and confidence, and supported 1,071 teachers in transforming the learning within their classrooms. With 100% growth in children’s creative thinking and a 92% increase in teachers’ skills, our data-driven approach provides rigorous evidence of our impact.

Shaping the Future of Creativity in Children’s Lives
We influence policy and champion imagination, creativity, and innovation in learning. Through events, research, and collaborations with educators, policymakers, and industry leaders, we drive change. Key initiatives include our iOi Annual Symposium, fostering discussions on education innovation, research we undertake to evidence the importance of imagination and creativity, and our work on the National Play Commission, where our CEO contributes to government policy recommendations.

Our Theory of Change
Our model sets out our work in impacting children through our programmes, platforms and products as well as impacting the learning system through our research, campaigns, networks and events. Importantly, it states clearly our focus on two key outcomes for children:
Building Creativity: By creating the space, tools and opportunities for creativity to thrive through the designing and delivering of creative learning experiences across the arts, sciences and digital technologies.
Sparking Aspirations: Our work opens up opportunities for children to build skills, ambition and inspire possibilities in regards to their future.
Our Approach
As educators, we shape future generations by nurturing creativity, curiosity, and critical thinking beyond subject-specific skills. Our transformative approach to learning is rooted in the vision of our late founding patron, Sir Ken Robinson.
As a result, we emphasise his 8 Core Competencies shown below. Through STEAM-based, hands-on experiences that blend arts, sciences, and technology, we foster innovation, problem-solving, and adaptability preparing children with essential skills for a rapidly evolving world.
